Amazona was founded in 2010 by a group of conservationists who witnessed firsthand the devastating effects of illegal deforestation in the Amazon rainforest. Watching unique species like the giant river otter lose their homes to logging, they knew something had to be done. What started as a small local initiative has grown into an international organization dedicated to protecting the wildlife and biodiversity of the Amazon.
We believe the Amazon rainforest is irreplaceable. Home to over 10% of all species on Earth, every species lost is a loss for all of humanity. At Amazona, we fight to ensure future generations can still marvel at the wonders of the Amazon.
